Stretched canvases the most common and popular type of canvas that can be easily seen almost in every art supply store out there. It is simply made of a cotton canvas stretched on a wooden frame. Usually, canvases like this are already primed for either acrylic or oil painting so make sure you are going to but the correct one.
Canvas rolls are usually used by experienced painters and those who want to create a huge masterpiece. You will need to stretch them by your own and are usually made of linen or cotton and are available with a wide range of textures and fibers.
Canvas Panels and Canvas Pads
Canvas panels and pads are good for beginners or when you are practicing or testing out what you want to do for your main masterpiece. They are high quality and affordable. Panels are usually made by stretching a canvas cloth to a rigid board, while pads are primed canvas sheets that are spiral bound. Despite not lasting very long, they are easy to carry and are a great option for students.
